How can laser treatment help?
Irregularities in skin pigmentation like sunspots and age spots may not improve using traditional medical treatment. The 532nm Frequency doubled Nd: YAG laser is ideal for the treatment of such problems. One treatment normally suffices for light brown or tan spots, while darker lesions may require multiple sessions. The treatment takes just a few minutes after which the skin may be left with brown spots that will clear in a few weeks.
Using the latest laser technology our treatments are performed with the 532nm and 1064nm lasers.
What is Pigmentation?
Lentigo(pl. Lentigines) “Age Spots”, “Liver Spots” (pigmented lesion) A brown, sharply circumscribed spot caused by an increased number of melanocytes. Actinic (solar) Lentigines arise in middle age and are numerous in sun-exposed skin.
Melasma (pigmented lesion) Patchy light to dark brown hyper pigmentation of the cheeks and occasionally the forehead and upper lip that results from sun-exposure and is associated with estrogens.
Birthmark is a benign irregularity on the skin which is present at birth or appears shortly after birth, usually in the first month. They can occur anywhere on the skin. Birthmarks are caused by an overgrowth of blood vessels, melanocytes, smooth muscle, fat, fibroblasts, or keratinocytes.
