Plasma Fibroblasts

Plasma Fibroblast Treatment

The Plasma Fibroblast  treatment is a treatment that aims to tighten and improve the appearance of skin.

Plasma Fibroblast treatments are performed using a pen-like device with a small metal probe attached that converts high-frequency electric energy into ionised gas (Plasma). this produces a tiny plasma flash straight onto the skin.

The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. This hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s layer. When this gas interacts with the skin, it generates heat energy, causing controlled microtrauma. This process stimulates the fibroblast cells in the deeper layer of the skin to repair and regenerate the outer skin layers.

The Plasma flash, in addition to its evaporation effect, simultaneously exerts a curative and tissue tightening effect which ensures accelerated and scarless healing. The elasticity of the skin is improved and tightening effect is made possible.

Fibroblasts are specialized skin cells found in the dermis (the layer just below the outermost skin layer). They play a crucial role in wound healing and maintaining skin firmness and tightness.

What is the procedure like?

The procedure may vary depending on which area you are having treated.

  • The skin is cleansed and  a topical anesthetic (numbing) cream is applied. You will need to wait about 30 minutes for the anesthetic cream to take effect.
  • The plasmapen will create small arcs of microcurrents that make small scab-like dots on the skin.
  • After the treatment the practitioner will remove the anesthetic cream and apply a cooling gel to minimise the tingling and burning sensation whenever possible.

Depending on the area to be treated it generally takes between 30-60 minutes.

What is the expected downtime?

Once the procedure has been completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week. Persistent redness may last a further 2-3 weeks.

Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer.

Some people may see benefits from one treatment, while others may require multiple treatments before they see results.

the healing process (including that collagen boost), will continue to progress with a final result of improvements seen in about 12 weeks and sometimes even as far out as 6-12 months.
