PlaSon Cold Plasma Therapy is a non-invasive medical aesthetic treatment that uses low-temperature atmospheric plasma to support skin regeneration and barrier function. The treatment is used to improve overall skin condition and is commonly incorporated into clinical skin management and post-procedure care.
Cold plasma is an ionised gas generated at low temperature, allowing it to be applied safely to the skin surface without thermal damage. PlaSon cold plasma delivers reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) to the epidermis, which support antimicrobial activity and cellular signalling involved in skin repair.
The treatment acts on the surface and superficial skin layers and does not disrupt tissue integrity.
PlaSon cold plasma technology is used in two distinct treatment protocols: PlasmaClear and PlasmaFacial. Both are non-invasive, low-temperature plasma treatments designed to support skin health through surface-level biological effects, without thermal injury or disruption to the skin barrier.
PlaSon PlasmaClear is a targeted treatment protocol primarily used to support the management of acne-prone and congested skin.
PlasmaClear delivers cold atmospheric plasma to the skin surface, producing reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). These act on the epidermis to:
Reduce acne-associated surface bacteria
Support modulation of inflammatory activity
Assist restoration of skin barrier function
Create an environment less favourable to breakouts
The treatment is non-thermal, non-contact, and does not involve chemicals or abrasion.
PlasmaClear may be considered for:
Acne-prone or congested skin
Inflammatory lesions
Excess sebum production
Recurrent blemishes
PlaSon PlasmaFacial is a broader skin-conditioning treatment focused on overall skin quality and rejuvenation.
PlasmaFacial uses controlled cold plasma application to support:
Epidermal renewal processes
Improved skin texture and tone
Skin barrier optimisation
Post-procedure skin recovery
The plasma acts at the skin surface, encouraging cellular signalling associated with repair and regeneration, without causing tissue damage.
PlasmaFacial may be suitable for:
Dull or fatigued-appearing skin
Uneven skin texture or tone
Compromised skin barrier
Post-aesthetic procedure recovery
Face
Neck
Scalp
Localised body areas
Performed following consultation and informed consent
Non-contact plasma handpiece applied to the skin surface
Minimal sensation during treatment
Typical treatment duration: 10–30 minutes, depending on protocol and area treated
Both treatments are associated with no expected downtime. Mild transient redness or warmth may occur and usually resolves quickly. Clinical response varies between individuals, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. A course of treatments may be recommended.
PlaSon Cold Plasma Therapy may not be suitable for patients with:
Active malignancy in the treatment area
Implanted electronic medical devices (unless medically approved)
Certain dermatological conditions or infections
Treatments are delivered using medical-grade cold plasma devices by appropriately trained practitioners, in accordance with CQC standards, manufacturer guidance, and local clinical protocols. Informed consent is obtained prior to treatment.
A full consultation is required to assess suitability.
